New record, and upcoming shows! - Posted by Alan On 04/26/07

We have just recieved some great news. Our friend Oliver Kicik is going to be releasing our new self-titled album on Stop Whining Start Winning Records (www.swx2records.com). Oliver has recently released the We The People ep, as well as the Black SS/How We Are split. Check out his site, and get stoked (we certainly are!).

The record itself was recorded at Strangeways Studios in Burlington (now relocated to Providence, R.I.) by Daryl Rabidoux. We didn't have a drummer at the time, so Mike Poorman did us the honor of laying down drum tracks for this recording, I only wish we had gotten to play a few shows with him! We'll have more news about this once the release date approaches.

In other news, we will be getting off our asses and playing some shows.

May 19th-Burlington, Vt. 242 Main, with Romans (their record release show).

June 22nd-Burlington, Vt. 242 main with How We Are (last Burlington show), My Revenge, and others tba.

June 23rd-Rochester, NY. This show is with How We Are, and will be their last show. I encourage people to travel to this show, it will be incredible.

more coming soon.

News Update-We are still alive. - Posted by Alan On 03/15/07

Sorry to anyone who has checked this thing and expected an update. Last November we recorded 6 new songs with Daryl "Grab-A-Brew" Rabidoux at Strangeways Studios, and will be releasing them hopefully by the summer. Also, we'll be posting a new song or two on the website, for now check out myspace.com/fromthegroundup, there are two new songs on there.

We are still a band, and even though the people that I am referring to when I say "we" are occasionally changing, this still means everything to me. We were able to play a few shows recently, and was just struck by how hard this whole thing still hits me. I still get really excited, sometimes nervous before we play, and while we're in the middle of a song, there's nothing like it. While we're getting this record released we're going to work on getting our asses back into the rotation of playing shows. As always, thanks to the people around us who continue to make this whole thiong worthwhile.

More Updates soon,
Alan

UPDATE-Words Can't Explain is OUT!!! - Posted by Alan On 05/26/06

Words Can't Explain is now officially out. Burlington, Vt. locals can find it in Pure Pop records, and it is also available on RevHQ and Interpunk. It's an awsome feeling to finally have this out. There are a lot of people who worked very hard to make this happen, namely Round 2, Daryl, and all the people who were a part of this band.

In other news, we have a new drummer. His name is Dylan Giambatista. He's a great drummer, a good dude, and looks like Garth from Waynes World. Right now we're booking a bunch of shows for the summer, in and out of state.

Recording/News/Shows - Posted by Alan On 02/24/06

Sorry for the lack of updates. The new album is currently being masterred at West West Side Music, and should be done quite soon. The layout is being done by our good friend Ryan Stanis, and cover art by Jared Metzner. This album is a long time coming, and we want to thank everyone who has been supporting us. There are new pictures from this last summer aswell as lyrics to all the songs on Words Can't Explain.

We will be playing in Burlington March 10th with Underdog at Higher Ground aswell as April 29th with Kill Your Idols at good ol' 242 Main.

That's all for now, look for updates concerning the release of Words Can't Explain, and more shows!

PS-Check out Black SS and How We Are, two awesome hardcore bands from NY state.

Recording/News/Shows - Posted by Alan On 10/15/05

Hey Everyone!
We are playing a show with our friends in Dead Hearts on Tuesday, October 25th at 242 Main. This show will start at 7pm, so please come out!!

Yesterday we recorded the vocals to the new From The Ground Up record. It should be mixed and masterred very soon. Daryl Rabidoux recorded this whole thing, and made it what is is. He pushed us to do better, and we are thankful that he was a part of it, and proud of the recording. Thanks also to all our friends who showed up to help us with the gang vocals, they sounded great!

In other news, Julian Hackney is now playing bass for From The Ground Up. We were sorry to see Dean go, but Julian is a close friend of the band, and we couldn't be happier to have him with us.

Show Canellations - Posted by Alan On 06/10/05

Due to circumstances out of our control we are forced to cancel our shows in Syracuse, NY on the 18th and Rochester, NY on the 19th of June. We are very sorry to have to do this, and hope to make these shows up later this summer or in the fall.

In other news, we plan on recording this summer again with our good friend Daryl Rabidoux behind the controls. Here are some of the song titles from this latest effort:

the Greater Good
Nothing To Go Back To
Brandie and Julian

We are very excited to record these new songs. In addition, our friend Bobby Hackney (formerly of the Static Age, My Revenge, In Reach, Common Ground, generally awesome dude) will be plying drums on this recording. Having him play on this is more than we could ask for, and are very thankful for this.

Until next time, I love my friends to fucking death.
